MOVE THAT MOUNTAIN - The Offering

MOVE THAT MOUNTAIN
The Offering
2 Corinthians 9: 6-7
6 Remember this:  Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.  7Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
I heard a story recently of a young girl who picked up a “special offering” envelope at church one Sunday.  You know, the ones in the back of the pew that often go unnoticed, or are used as note pads.  To make it even more special she took it home and used her creativity to decorate the outside before she made the delivery.
After sealing the envelope she took it back to church and proudly handed it to a deacon.  Inside was the sum of her total allowance for the week.  The deacon was so moved by this offering that he told her no amount would ever be as important as what she had just given, because she had given from the heart.
This is just one of those untold “God Moments” that happen continually at Mt. Olivet Christian Church.  One of our very own pre-teens gave a full week’s allowance when she heard about our Capital Campaign.  She realized the impact of her offering and what it could do to further God’s work here in our community.  She is truly the “cheerful giver” that God loves.
Be alert and pay attention!!  God is at work!!  Mt. Olivet is on the move and we are His hands and His feet.  There is much work to be done in the coming months, but it will take each one of us to search our hearts and earnestly pray for what God would have us do.
On May 15th there will be a time for you to help.  You will be asked to commit an ADDITIONAL portion of your income to the Capital Campaign.  This will be over and above your tithe, which is needed to sustain the ministries and operating expenses of the church.
During this time be in prayer for God’s continued blessings, and be thankful for the acts of giving that are going on right now.  Pray for perseverance as we acknowledge His wonderful plans.  Pray for the kind of faith it takes to MOVE that MOUNTAIN!!
For more information on the Capital Campaign always feel free to contact a church leader, or visit the website.       www.mountolivetchristian.org
